About Sollus Psychology
Sollus is a latin adjective describing an object as ‘full’, whole’, ‘perfect’, ‘entire’ and ‘unbroken’. Sollus
psychology recognizes the imperfect perfection of the human condition and endeavours to create a
sense of fullness and wholeness to our clients lived experiences. Reinforcing the nature of being human,
unbroken in connection with self and others and being entirely good enough is the foundation of our
reason for being. We exist to support you and reinforce the wonder, richness and diversity of life.
Drawing from a broad range of referral sources including GP’s, Department of Veterans Affairs and
Workcover Queensland, Sollus Psychology is committed to reducing distress and impairment by
providing person centred psychotherapy to adult clients.
What to expect
As psychotherapists we endeavor to describe, explain, predict and collaboratively modify human
behaviour to reduce subjective distress and functional impairment and reinforce adaptive approaches to
living well. Creating a strong bond of human connection is an integral part of our role. Actively listening
and responding compassionately and non-judgmentally is an important foundation for relieving distress
and functional impairment associated with unhelpful psychological processes.
The initial session provides an opportunity to foster connection and create a clinical formulation (and
diagnosis if required) based on historical and current information. Subsequently, utilising evidence-
based treatments, providing psychoeducation and an opportunity to build adaptive skills and develop
useful strategies to create adaptive change and scaffold our inherent ability to thrive and experience a
life worth living.
